Pacquiao-Marquez
Freddie Roach is confident that Manny Pacquiao won’t be compassionate when he faces Juan Manuel Marquez for the 3rd time. The Pacquiao vs Marquez 3 will be held on November 12 at the MGM Grand Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada. Roach believes his prized ward won’t commit the same mistake he did when he recently fought Antonio Margarito and Shane Mosley.

I don’t see him going into this fight being compassionate, letting (Marquez) off the hook the way he did with Shane and Margarito in the end," Roach said.

Roach said the “grudge factor” will motivate Pacquiao to go for a knockout against the gutsy Mexican champion.

"He has a little grudge. (Marquez) came to the Philippines wearing a T-shirt that said, ‘We got robbed’ and so forth,” said Pacquiao’s trainer.

Pacquiao and Marquez battled in 2 closely contested fights in the past. In 2004, the Filipino scored 3 first-round knockdowns versus the Mexican only to be frustrated with a controversial draw. In the 2008 rematch, Pacquiao edged Marquez with a split decision. That fight was so close that boxing experts believe that the decision could go either way.

I’ve urged him not to be compassionate and take him out,” said Roach. “That’s the only thing that will make the controversy go away.”
